Joomla currently uses a language file format which is only used for Joomla and
cannot be processed by other translation tools. Joomla translation files
have grown quite large and translation tools would come really handy.

If Joomla instead used a standardised format like XLIFF, the translation tools
could be used on them rightaway.

Image icons in Joomla! are now outdated - especially those default Contact page icons in Components -> Contacts -> Options -> Icons.

Joomla! 3 is using Bootstrap, so why not standardise on Font Awesome?

A control panel switch to show/hide the article ID in a URL. It's currently cumbersome to have to add articles to hidden menus in order to remove the id, for example (http://site.com/page1 is much better than http://site.com/27-page1). Will save lots of time for heavy users who do not wish to use custom SEF plugins.

Set sort order/column of articles in article manager. It would save a lot of time to have the option to sort articles in article manager by date created, category, etc as a DEFAULT instead of having to do it every time you login. Right now the default seems to be article title which is not ideal for me or my clients most of the time. Currently the sorting works fine, but it would be nice to have this stick instead of having to click date twice to see most recent articles at the top every time I login.

Idea:
Management of the contents in Joomla is not user-friendly.
ID of the contents cannot be changed.
Articles need to be classified with a "Windows MY Computer" structure and view.
Manipulation, replacement, and other article / content management needs to be as user does the same in his desktop "My Computer" file management.

If these occur, then changing, migrating, ... will be very simple in addition to simple site building and management.

Can we have users gain the ability to use their social accounts (Twitter, Facebook, OpenID, etc.) to login to the Joomla frontend?

In my case i have another app for the company where we save data from users in a mysql db.. (name, username, mails etc) would be great an option to (import) or better that joomla takes the user info info from an external DB. People can login as users and mass mail. and they can sign up from joomla as a second option but that catch the user info from joomla db..

Joomla articles should natively have extra fields possibility (text, radio, check box, list, select, file etc.) and ability to create powerful filter based on extra fields.

Is this common sense funktionality ever gonna be in joomla?
