Security future
- add an firewall/antivirus app in joomla core scanning each item uploaded 2 joomla.
- all plugs & components in extensions should be re-evaluated and check if they are safe.
- developers should be punished if they make unsafe plugins or components. Dev's P or C is only accepted if it contains the required security features.
- /administrator in the back end. should be linked 2 yor webhost or whatever you specify it 2 be. The backend should also be switch off automatically when you logout, I turn my off by going 2 webhost renaming administrator 2 adXXXministraXXtor or what…99 votes -
One URL per content (phase out ItemId)
Urls should be created from content, not menu items. The menu manager should merely create aliases to articles and components, lists excepted. Instead of Item(menu)ID, modules should be assigned to lists, articles, categories, components, etc. Advantages: will shave a layer of complexity from Joomla, eliminate duplicate content and allow for cleaner URLs. The only minor disadvantage that comes to mind is same article can't have 2 or more links and module assignments.

Auto menu item creation when you create article on the frontend!
When a user creates an article via the frontend, then only way to create a menu link is for an admin to go into the backend.
Or for a categories page to be created which will just be one link to ALL created article of that category.
We need to allow a site to expand naturally with it's users, and navigation of the content is very important.
Please vote 3 votes to get the key feature added to Joomla as soon as possible!
Thank you!

Meta data automatically generated for articles
Social networking sites such as Facebook rely on the Meta Description for feed posts. It would be helpful of these fields could be filled out automatically so authors don't have to copy and paste a snippet of an article.

Joomla Enterprise!
It seems that most of the wishes are expanding Joomla too much. I suggest building a Joomla Enterprise Distribution which has all the additonal features helping Joomla to be an Enterprise CMS.
The distribution as it is now should be left that thin. The enterprise version should have all the extension (e.g. extended ACL, CCK etc. ) which are needed to be blow away concurrent CMS like Typo3 or Drupal.48 votes
